It'll be good to know your impressions. I was incredibly disappointed in the demo. I found it surprisingly boring, which was not something I could say about the trailers.

Most genre names are whatever really, but it is annoying if you are trying to use Steam tags to find actual bullet hell. Also - roguelite and roguelike are often misused too, and to be honest it's got to the point where I really struggle to remember which is which now.

A huge bugbear of mine - they are using the term as window dressing for completely different genres. One is arcade design which rewards highly skilled play, and learning through repetition. And the other is a progress through accumulation no skills required. Ball x Pit is the most recent example.

Thanks so much! Really helpful to see the ebb and flow movement!

Yep - I've been going white and then dropping to the ground to discharge. I know you can do this by getting hits so purposely being white into wave 3 sounds like something to try.

Will try! If they stick to the ship though, is it possible to get rid of them?

I hate this move towards remake culture, instead of just doing everything possible to port faithfully. Particularly with Saturn games. It smacks a little of self importance and ignorance about what made these games special.

Thanks! I've been checking out the soundtrack before launch as well - originally thought it was a little bit too much generic EDM but it's grown on me. Same as the gameplay.

Definitely the best game mode there! I always used to like it when a track would kinda stutter along, rather than the super smooth curves and drops.

Of course! JRPGs tend to have very archaic design that really moved on hence systems like auto battle, avoid low level encounters as fixes. I quite like that SMTs fix isn't as blunt as those. I do think most JRPGs fans just want predictable familiarity though. Hard to innovative and be well received

I like the press turn system because it rewards that slight engagement and thought, to make the encounters move quicker. Most JRPG's you just auto attack everything as it's often the quickest route though low level mobs.

Everything is geared towards that 1st impression, that first 30 mins. It's smooth and responsive, and I can do everything I want, while looking cool. So it's a good game. Folks don't want more than that, or appreciate the long term depth. It's all about validation and moving on to next week's game.
