Monarca is the local organization with observer trainings coming up this week and next in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Wisconsin

I did the training at the U few weeks ago. It's good and important info.

Bring me back to 1998, please.

Pre-911 naivety, No smartphones, no social media, VH1 pop up video, portable CD players, calling radio to request the current hits...

We had it good in '98.

Check out The Goo Goo Dolls NPR Tiny Desk performance that released today. One of the 90s all-time greatest.

Yea dude it got really good a few times last night but the first one was the best. Towards the end of the night it got so bright I even managed to grab some video with my phone.

I stayed out way too late. I'm feeling it.

Yea a lot of my red pics Tuesday night are over exposed from that bright red. Last night's first substorm was so good. Much better than I thought what we'd get.

Yes! Totally worth it. Naked eye G3 aurora before 10pm is a successful night in my book.

Please tell me you all just witnessed what I just witnessed??

She started blowing up above me on 35N, I got off at nearest exit and found these old trucks!!

She ain't done yet. I'd stay out. It's early.

Moving on to my next location!!

The data is starting to turn favorable!!! ...of course, this can flip at anytime.

BUT As of now I am heading out to the car to drive north and take a look. Can't update much after this so on your own

If you were to ask me at this very minute, if it's worth going out, I would say yes!

Good luck!

The data did start jumping a few minutes ago and trending favorably! Of course, it can always flip on us! But right now it's looking good as long as it stays like that for an hour or more.

You still have time to plan for tonight.

Go to lightpollutionmap.info. Try to get yourself into at least yellow, green or blue.

This makes all the difference in the world.

If you can get north of Anoka county on 35N, you're pretty much good to go. Farther is better.

It is highly likely you'll need to get out of light pollution to experience whatever tonight gives us.

Would it be nice if we saw aurora from downtown Minneapolis again? Yea.

But understand if you saw that last night, it was one of the most rare things you'll ever see in your lifetime.

We'll have to see little closer to dark. It looks promising. I'll try post an update about my plans for tonight before sunset. Finding spot away from light pollution will be worth it. Use lightpollutionmap.info and Google Maps. Try get close to green or blue at least but even 30 min outside cities 👍
