I guess I'm halfway into the camp of it being Not That Serious as a whole personally, just because the Mario universe and lore is constantly changed and retconned and reimagined. I'm OK with them doing new things. But if they do my boy dirty I will be on the warpath lol

Yeah it just feels kind of bizarre. It would kinda suck for his intro to not be a twist in the narrative following cool story beats, like with Sunshine's depiction. Idk lol

As for Yoshi, I love the blending between the white and green on his body, and the subtle scales. I will have to get used to the weird scute ridges on his saddle. I know in modern day it's supposed to be a shell, but I'll never see it that way as an oldhead lol.

I really hope that the direction chosen for him isn't just, whiny child voice/behaviour, and that he is treated with the same respect as every other character so far! As flawed as the first movie is, I think the characerisation is pretty alright (if a little bland).
