The one that got me was "they built things to last 20 years ago". In 2005? No they absolutely did not!

Some people really weren't around for "lather rinse repeat" or "plop plop fizz fizz" and it shows.

Sounds very much like my "this shading looks good on my screen, but what about on anyone else's screen or a phone scree-oh god no."

Thanks Thom. Thom.

A smart bed, sure. But one that needs to be online to work?! What functions could it possible have that couldn't be served by local hardware no more complex than what's inside a microwave?!

I've a few pet theories about it all. But before that, have you played Fallout London?

I hope they meet again. You've created some very real-feeling people there.

Feel things is an understatement; I've been really hoping Manson and Branson's final chapter truly isn't final. It was so achingly bittersweet.

Like all good scifi! I do love Thom's world. It's been very inspiring.

Are you sure you're not talking about our world there? ;P

You seem to have the knack! We don't need to know that the Angelfish folds space by using a Glorbian substrate inversion manifold matrix oscillator. We need to know that it's a big heap of costcutting and bodge fixes barely managing to hold together and keep from a catastrophic meltdown.

Reminds me of the possibly apocryphal story of when Mike Okuda was asked how the Heisenberg compensator in the transporters worked; he answered "it works very well, thank you."

You work for a company that unashamedly gives the middle finger to people like that AND the latest game has Little Alex Horne in it?!

Arwyn, please...leave some awesomeness for the rest of us. That's just being greedy!

...He said; "oh no, we had sex. But not in a gay way." That day was my version of the realisation you're currently describing.

...and I quote, absolutely word-for-word even after all these years; "I don't know much about that. But when I was younger, I slept with my best mate." Stunned, I tried to clarify by asking "you mean, like...shared a bed?" And he replied with words that burned this whole experience into my memory...

Story time. In the long distant past, when I was 16 and comfortably out, I worked a summer temping doing the bins. One fella, after spending most of the shift talking about his girlfriend, asked me "you got a bird then?" I said no, I'm gay. He went very quiet for a few moments and then said...
