@davidmasnato.com 's game Tiers of Joy is 🔥! Great example of how simplicity of rules & clear parsing of board state can increase depth of interaction - & this game is all about the wily trade-offs of shared incentives with your two neighbors (a la Between Two Cities, but fantastically distilled!)

oh absolutely. It's a real space party game that involves physically navigating the cards themselves as characters around objects in the room. I know cost of production is one barrier for board games getting as adventurously bizarre as rpgs, but card games have a chance!
