Putin gave him a clear message that it was time for him to deliver. He's fed up with waiting and at some point will look elsewhere. And now he's firmly established as being in the Russian camp, he needs to start worrying about Putin having him killed on the basis that the blame will fall on Ukraine.

The thing is, there is no real indication that this is on offer, even if this is what Ukraine are working towards. What they are being “offered” in return for “peace” is the long term rape, emasculation and demolition of themselves as an independent country.

At some point you’ve got to wonder why any honest people would remain at the DoJ. You spend months or years successfully prosecuting criminals who have committed horrific crimes, often making millions or billions in the process, then they flatter and give Trump a cut and are home free.

I don’t see that the two statements are at odds. That it hasn’t recognised it now doesn’t preclude the possibility of it being recognised in the future. Especially in the circumstances where this utterly criminal administration acts to make prosecution under US law literally impossible.

If Trump tries to pardon everyone on the way out, then there’s nothing stopping a future Democratic administration recognising it and handing them all over.

People at the top will always feel they are invulnerable. Ulyimate prosecution only acts as punishment but not as deterrent for the future. This is not true for those who enable and atecomplicit.

When and hopefully if this comes to an end it is arguably MORE important that the lower ranks get prosecuted for these crimes against humanity. Because the people at the top give such orders because they think they are invulnerable. But it is the lower ranks that enable it.

And the irony is that he doesn’t realise that he’s creating the precedent for anything that HE has signed to actually be declared null and void. All his sycophants hoping to be pardoned should be worried…

It’s a small thing in the larger picture, but it shows how far things have fallen that not only are we expected to accept that social media postings are legitimate means of Govt policy making, but that this also happens with the media unquestionably accepting that the President actually wrote them.

Which is why Vance is arguably even more dangerous than a dementia addled Trump. The only question if he became President is whether Congress rapidly rediscovered its power before he completely abandoned Ukraine - or worse.
