Sections of the UK media are again whipping up manufactured outrage about the so called “Muslim Brotherhood”.

We’ve seen this playbook before, and the same forces are driving it again.

I break down what’s behind this recycled panic:
What is driving Britain's Muslim Brotherhood panic?
Foreign smear campaigns, lobbying and domestic opportunism have turned a vague label into a political weapon that treats British Muslim civil society as inherently suspect

My latest on the role British Muslims can play in rebuilding the UK.

This requires political courage. It requires institutions that see #Muslim communities as partners, not problems. A willingness to imagine a Britain where all of us feel we have something to protect and something to build"

How UK is setting aside international law from #migrants to #refugees to #Gaza to detachment from European Court of Human Rights

When international law collapses, so do our rights.

From Gaza to Westminster, the rules that once restrained power are being rewritten or ignored.

In my latest piece, I explore how Britain, once an architect of the post-war order, is now complicit in its erosion.

This is what the degradation of international law looks like

From Israel’s genocide in Gaza, to Trump, and now Britain’s PM, a former human rights lawyer trying, to undermine these protections.

Let’s not act surprised when dictators follow the same playbook

The answer lies not in doubling down on outdated alliances, nor in waiting for others to make room for us. It lies in something more urgent and more honest: forging our own political path — one rooted in moral pragmatism"

Gaza has exposed the bankruptcy of our political leaders.

For 25 years, British Muslim have been tied to the left, only on their terms. In my new piece for EA WorldView, I argue the next 25 years must chart a new course, rooted in moral pragmatism:

The state of British media is telling: more outrage over a protest group and an ill-advised chant at a music festival than over the killing of tens of thousands in Gaza.

Genocide is unfolding, but the real scandal, apparently, is those who are shouting too loudly about it.
STATEMENT: MCB Slams Muted Silence on Genocide While Outrage Mounts Over Protest

By ignoring the concerns raised by UN experts, the government is choosing to silence protestors rather than address the root causes of the genocide being carried out by Israeli forces.

Child Sexual Exploitation is a vile crime and those perpetrators must be punished.
We welcome the Prime Minister’s Announcement of a statutory inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation - and stand firmly with the victims of these abhorrent crimes.

Exploiting these horrific crimes to push bigotry derails real justice.

With Israel's actions, we are witnessing the collapse of the rules-based order and international law. This flies in the face of everything Britain claims to stand for. What we’re seeing sends a clear message to every dictator: act as you wish, there will be no consequences.
The Muslim Council of Britain condemns in the strongest possible terms Israel’s latest military strikes on Tehran, which have seen residential areas engulfed in flames.

It is time for Britain to stop turning a blind eye.

Horrific news this morning. Thoughts and prayers with all the victims and their families.

Those in the Gatwick area, and those who need support, irregardles of faith or background MCB has set up a dedicated line and is working with Gatwick Islamic Centre to help.
We are saddened by the tragic news of the plane crash this morning en route from Ahmedabad to Gatwick, which has been reported to have no survivors. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives. We pray for comfort, strength, and patience for all during this time.

Whilst these sanctions are welcome, more needs to be done to hold those responsible for atrocities in Gaza to account.
🚨 MCB Statement

The MCB welcomes the UK travel ban and asset freeze of far-right Israeli ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich - but after over 55,000 Palestinian deaths, it isn’t enough. We continue to push for further action.

Much has been made by bad faith actors trying to paint this week’s Qur’an burning conviction as a blasphemy law in disguise. It wasn’t.
