Islamabad – 26 November (APP): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sisters have expressed deep concern over reports regarding a possible life-threatening situation faced by Imran Khan inside jail. His sisters issued a statement expressing their alarm after meeting him. They said Imran Khan’s condition is extremely worrying, and that they have become aware of several disturbing matters about his treatment in jail. According to PTI sources, Imran Khan’s sisters said during their meeting that they had clear reservations about the manner in which he is being kept in custody. On Sunday, 26 November 2023, his sisters claimed that outside the courtroom, they were subjected to police violence, and that the police misbehaved with them as well. They stated that even when they tried to speak, the police didn’t allow them. Imran Khan’s sisters added that the police treated them harshly despite the fact that they only wanted to enquire about their brother’s health. They said the police attempted to push them away several times. The sisters also claimed that over the past few weeks, Imran Khan had been subjected to severe restrictions, and his fundamental rights were being infringed. Furthermore, they said that during their meeting, Imran Khan himself expressed frustration at being denied basic facilities and repeatedly raised concerns about his personal safety inside jail. His sisters said they have informed the authorities multiple times about these issues but no one has taken corrective action. The statement from Imran Khan’s sisters demanded that the government ensure Imran Khan’s safety in jail and provide him with basic facilities according to law. They warned that if anything happens to Imran Khan, the current rulers will be responsible. They urged the judiciary and human rights organisations to take notice of the situation.

The People’s Lawyers Forum Sukkur Division strongly condemns the incident at the Lawyers’ Convention held at the District Bar Association Sukkur, where abusive language was used against the PPP leadership and the State, followed by the raising of Sindhu Desh slogans. When some lawyers present in black coats resisted this misconduct, they were attacked and subjected to violence. As a result, Senior Advocate and President High Court Bar Association / Member Judicial Council / Member Sindh Bar Council Mr. Qurban Ali Malano and others sustained injuries. Mr. Malano was immediately shifted to the hospital.
