If we had LLM powered coding agents 10 years ago, we would still be using Jenkins for all CI/CD automation.

woah, that's very serious. you don't even have to be authenticated? apparently that's some reason to keep databases in private network even if the authentication mechanisms are strong

Woah. It's like when Sun Microsystems was acquired by Oracle. Nails on traditional media's coffin.

I just completed "Cafeteria" - Day 5 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/5

Still going strong, I solved second part in o(n*n) complexity, not sure if there is a more efficient solution.

Just completed "Printing Department" - Day 4 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/4

I like it when second parts also solve first parts.

Finished Day 2 of #AdventOfCode, I'm not quite sure why but I did it better than Day 1. Maybe my code puzzle skills are warming up

Everyone is aware that definition and responsibilities of software engineers are changing, quite swiftly. But to which direction? Can we at least portray the short term requirements?

Github announced they are moving their servers to Azure yesterday.

In an unrelated incident, Github experienced a proper outage today.

From Staff Engineer's Path about importance of building experience for being a good role model:

> Experience comes through time, exposure, and study—not innate aptitude.

So, don't let AI kill your learning process.

We should also acknowledge that for most AI startups that have not yet found product-market fit: they are racing agains the clock. Most probably have ~6 months (or less) to gain serious traction: else they will prob have to fold / sell

It's much higher pressure than in the past.

I love mapping culturally established idioms between different languages. Just figured out "destur var mı?" in Turkish can be translated into English as "you decent?"

Netanyahu began this war with his attack on Iran. In the process, he sabotaged US-Iran negotiations on nuclear issues and assassinated Ali Shamkhani, Iran’s lead nuclear negotiator.

The US must not be dragged into another illegal Netanyahu war – either militarily or financially.

Despite codecompanion.olimorris.dev, AI assistance in neovim is way behind VSCode or similar editors' experience, especially when it comes to agent mode.

neovim is not an IDE of course, before AI assistants the trade-off made sense, but now, the tide is not on neovim's side.

This blog is SO good at pointing out what should have been obvious about AI for coding (Copilot and others)

These tools are good for re-creating whatever they’ve been trained on.

They are not what will create the next, better generation of frameworks, libraries, technologies.
