The “why” is mostly because people haven’t asked for it so we haven’t put in the implementation effort. What platforms are you interested in?

J9 has some CRaC support as well; might be all you need there. It would be interesting to see how our SCC and cached JIT code will work for jRuby now…there have been some improvements that may help

CRIU support is also Linux-only, but we have used it to successfully start WebSphere Liberty benchmarks in a few hundred milliseconds and we support that for production use. It requires thoughtful implementation, but it's been working pretty well for us. ack on JITServer only for Linux as well
