Sometimes you take an immediate loss for long term gain. Look to our PC gov and Alberta’s - I don’t want them getting closer to highest seat. She did the right thing to show solidarity.

Add to that the maintenance backlog and it’s far worse than that. Cuts are cumulative, we’ve been underfunded for so long it’s far beyond just bridging the gap.

Almost the right move. Flying Indigenous leaders to make a formal presentation with some acknowledgment and atonement would be the true integrity move.

I always thought they were so iconic of Canadian identity. Until I learned these were often the blankets traded with Indigenous traders. So now I basically see those “iconic” stripes as swastikas.

The speed cameras, in my community, were a cash grab. Hot take, I know. But the speed limit is 50, dips to 40, speed camera RIGHT THERE. but a sign saying heads up, would help. The one I’m thinking of, maybe a crossing light would be more suited.

They built homes, but they were cheaply constructed, became huge burdens on the owners - structural issues, mold, you name it. He grabbed a headline and ran - no follow up, no accountability.

I mean, my thoughts went to small pox and the intentional devastation of Indigenous communities and how anyone could be gleeful about owning those commercial rights. The Star, took another direction.
