I love the really restricted colour palette!!

And here’s where I’m stopping. I just deleted a rather long self critique because I feel it’s definitely ok! I still want to try mixing more precise sketches with wild ink and then detailed paint.

Once it’s dry I’m going to add some gouache (just a bit because this paper won’t like it) and re-draw on top. And then maybe add some gold ink. My debate is ripping it out of the book (not because I don’t want to keep it, but I don’t want to wreck other pages with water/media accidents while I play)

You know how they say it’s ok (good even!) to wreck your art? 😬 😑😬

(Also this paper can’t handle water. I thought it was for mixed media, but I guess that means more pencil/pen/light ink/pastel etc.)

Ok. So it is what I thought, but either I did the stitch wrong (possible!) or I need to maybe throw in an extra row of single crochet so I can actually see it clearly.

I don’t know?! I thought it was like, maybe the back loop… but I thought incorrectly. Requires some research.

I’m going to try again using a larger hook and making the largest size. And maybe spiking my tea a little. And maybe practicing this bit of the pattern I don’t understand (not front loop, not back loop, but into the third loop?) before the bubbles (also worth practicing).

BUT IT IS SO PRETTY! I was thinking about making gloves and a hood and maybe the top of a cape and now I’m just… scowling 😂
