Over on Instagram, there's a Siamese named Noelle who sports a jaunty pair of shades and likes to play card games.

Cinderblock was invented in the 1920s, which saved cost & weight without sacrificing too much strength.

A (now) unanswerable question that's nagged me for decades:

Nesmith & Douglas Adams were close friends and worked together on a Hitchhiker's screenplay.

The Porpoise Song *must* have come up at some point.
Had Adams seen "Head"? Or did they chalk it up to fate or coincidence?

I'm a huge fan of Elephant Parts, and was among the probably dozens of viewers of his Television Parts series.

Still is.
Until now, I hadn't realized it was recorded live.

Though some may deride the Monkees for their origins, they were damn fine musicians.

It's such a staple of the Jewish Gen-X canon, I just assume it's common knowledge.

Have you seen "The Frisco Kid" starring Gene Wilder & Harrison Ford?

I think there's more story potential in the northern frontier.
As Robert Service wrote,

"There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who mohel for gold"

I finally caught it last night.

I hope to he!! they release a soundtrack album b/c I want to make some side-by-side comparisons with regards to the arrangements

Don't want to spoil anything for folks who are yet to see this version, but I'm still thinking of the way little changes add up.

Saw a matinee of "Six" today, which led to a discussion of Kat Howard's portrayal, followed by an evening performance of "Oedipus"

Too many stories of 13-year-old girls who should've been protected from powerful men

I've been worried that the transition from contempory story to a period piece would be insurmountable, once the audience was no longer steeped in the Cold War mindset.

Gen X (Danny Strong) for the win!

Daily soap operas episode counts are insane.

The original Dark Shadows ran from June 27, 1966 - April 2, 1971 with 1,225 episodes.

Classic Who had stories which lasted 4 or 6 half-hour episodes.
But even those were written so the full stories could be shifted about the schedule if needed.

But it wasn't until the Key to Time that they tried to tell a longer story that required strict episode order.
November 7, 2025 at 2:35 PM
I'm talking specifically of episode recaps published shortly after the airtime (before the next episode airs if they're not dropped all at once).
November 7, 2025 at 2:26 PM
One thing I find fascinating is the genre of episode recap/review articles which emerged this century.

In the days before VCRs & VOD - when everyone watched at the same schedule and missing a show meant SOL until rerun season - it wasn't a thing.
