This might be a unique perspective in a blue bubble in a red state where funding formulas have changed to disadvantage complexity.

So sorry. I would say it is sort of rough in general right now everywhere in education. I definitely supplemented my teacher salary with on the side consulting and much of that is drying up. Would you consider working in a district? I feel like I still see lots of jobs as math instructional coaches.

Yes! They would love it! I would love it.

My students love these so much. Saving the last one for the end of the year. There also so very impressed by the fact that it's in the graphing calculator! If you ever do a peak behind the scenes at your process they'd love to see it.

That was fast! Sorry I missed you in Indiana (we had a school visioning day Saturday AM).

And they really already have learned about sine and cosine because I teach IM and we have discovered them as ratios.....and they are going to geek out tomorrow when they see this objective.

And they have been all year asking about when they will learn about "themselves." (aka sine and cosine).

Well my honors Geometry 8th graders are so goofy and nerdy and one of them couldn't pronounce cosine and kept saying cuisine. So I nicknamed him cosine and his bestie sine.

Maybe expect to hear more about this? I'd love to hear your other ideas.

Love this. I've also been thinking about cross content collaboration more and more. Working on sharing what my school community has done to essentially use Math Language Routines in other contents. Sharing with a blog here: sites.google.com/view/math-te...

Hi--I'm Ms. Hereth and I teach middle school math (or HS math to middle schoolers) in Indiana. Once I asked a math coach how to teach negative exponents and she said "The upstairs downstairs rule." That's the worst idea I've ever gotten in real life feedback.
