This is just another absolute own goal by Carney. He showed Canadians that he's willing to be complicit with some truly awful people (Trump, Rubio, Kushner, Blair) in a deeply immoral land theft project *and* he got suckered for his trouble.

Carney isn't just failing Canada, he's failing the world. If we don't stand for democracy and a rules-based international order, why would any other country come to Canada's defence when we need it?

More than half of Toronto drivers in a Universtiy of Toronto study didn't look for people walking or on bikes before turning right. Study used eye-tracking tech.

Increasingly deadly vehicles, dumb laws, and irresponsible driving equal people being injured and killed.

everytime B.C. does a test of its emergency system I'm brought back to 2021 when the government hadn't used it for years

and didn't use it for the deadly heat dome or deadly flooding

and then the government had a tantrum when they were called out on it

and then immediately started using it

Racialized workers and women are disproportionately affected by low wages, this year’s living wage report shows.

Closing the gap between Metro Vancouver’s living wage, $27.85/hour, and BC’s min wage, $17.85/hour, would greatly aid these workers' families.

Maybe the thing that gives me a pulse-pounding throbbing headache is when I think of how techbros sold ChatGPT to universities as ‘revolutionizing’ higher education and our institutions just forked over money without even asking for actual evidence
When people learn with ChatGPT instead of following their own searches, they end up knowing less, caring less, and producing worse advice, even when the facts are the same.

Friction is an essential ingredient for learning! Convenience makes us shallow.

Given the deterioration of the US public health system it is necessary that Canada significantly up its capabilities and capacities in public health and pandemic/ epidemic preparedness. Including our capacity to develop and produce vaccines and new antiviral/ antibacterial drugs.

Trump hates to be the object of humor. He understands that humor can be a more powerful antidote to tyranny than any other form of criticism.

I'm sure he'd hate it if you shared this cartoon. [Cartoon by Jon Adams/The New Yorker]

Everyone's talking about BC's "spending problem" but here's what they're not telling you: we're spending the SAME share of GDP as 1998, but collecting far less revenue. BC's deficit isn't about overspending. My analysis: vancouversun.com/opinion/op-e...

Opinion: B.C. has a revenue problem, not a spending problem
Experience from early 2000s shows that underfunding public services and failing to address poverty leads to higher economic and social costs
