We now have visual evidence of intense pollution from every stage of the #LNG supply chain, from the hole in the ground, to the export terminal, to the regasification import terminal (as bad as it sounds), to the power plant. It's astonishing to see, even for me.

Battery power capacity across CAISO will reach 17.6 GW by the end of 2025. Net load was 25 GW yesterday.....

Assuming 4 hour storage, that's 70 GWh a day, or about 20% of total net load.

Dramatic.

These are the demand "duck curves" for CAISO for the past few years, expressed as the GW of fossil gas generation. It's given that name b/c it's shaped like a duck w/ the belly at midday & head in the evening. Notice that fossil gas GW in 2024 decreased. 🧪🔌💡☀️💨🔋 +...
GW of fossil gas generation as a function of time of day in CAISO grid from 2019 to 2024. Generation from hits a peak in the early evening ~7pm and decreases into the night. The max peak of ~10 GW occurred in 2021. In 2024 that value dropped to ~5 GW.

Unless you charge with a public or super charger often, it is all but guaranteed that the marginal cost of an EV is substantially lower than ICE.

And it’s much cleaner.
