It hurts. Lost the last of our 44 yrs of critters a yr ago. Old dog died and old cat went a wk later in Nov. Tightly bonded. Now old folks, we know bringing home more rescues would be irresponsible. They could outlive us. Esp since we favored pibbles. Our last pack. The Chi-mix was the bossiest.

This stray showed up with a broken leg. We fixed it and he hated us. Then we built him a catio and he became a country gent over time. He and wildlife were safe.

Maybe trap him and build him a catio? We did it with a feral who showed up with a broken leg. We got it fixed (he hated us) but after a yr, he was a sweet healthy gent.

We rescued pibbles and were blessed with love and laughter. Now over the Rainbow Bridge, but this was our pack. The Chi-mix was the bossiest of them all.

“Ginger cats” will always steal your heart. Miss mine so much. Over the Rainbow Bridge. A few days before his death from renal failure, he just got super lovey and wanted to be in my lap. I didn’t realize he was saying goodbye. Sigh.

4/ He’s a remarkable man who now attends protests with his old hippie wife (me); he still believes in the ideals he (naively then) embraced as a teen. Pls send him your best wishes for surgical success. He can barely walk now but still stands for our democratic beliefs.

1/ My hubby of 44 yrs is having major spine surgery on Nov 19. As a 19 yr old high school drop out Marine sent to Nam, he thought carrying a 70 lb radio through the jungle and jumping out of helicopters with it on his back was preserving democracy.
