Hi everyone, my new book, SOMETHING BETWEEN US, is now available via Stanford University Press, at a 20% discount with code PANDIAN20. For the last eight years, I've been wrestling as an anthropologist with where we've landed in the United States.

I'm now searching for new PhD students who are interested in studying how people's brains understand sequences of images like in comics. So, a mix of comics, cogneuro (EEG), and psycholinguistics (especially syntax/semantics). Please circulate to all who might be interested! tiu.nu/22739

And more..

Does anyone in Brum want these teaching books? The chances of me ever going back are slim to zero. Must collect as I don’t have time to faff about with postage. I don’t want anything for them. Happy to split them too.

Today I made a zine to inform people about the EO that would gut the #IMLS. I was asked to share, so hey, why not share widely? You can download and print your own copies at drive.google.com/file/d/1DUsm....

If you need help folding, search for Hotdog Booklet and you should find directions easily.

The video coming out of Trump and Vance trying to pull an idiots tag team assault on Zelensky is grim. They act offensively in accusing Zelensky of being disrespectful for not kissing their arses. USA are no longer allies, Trump chose Russia. Europe needs to name them as arseholes and bin alliances

No second state visit for Trump

I just watched an 8 minute video that was meant to be a press conference between two presidents and a vice-president and what I actually saw was a couple of bullies harassing and talking over a man with amazing patience who wasn’t given a chance to speak. Trump and JD Vance are such horrible people.

People sometimes say kids don't read books any more. As a children's author who's always visiting schools, I can tell you: KIDS STILL LOVE BOOKS! Give them access to the widest possible range of books, free choice in what to read & the right to read for pleasure - and every child can be a reader!

Children's books are never "just" for children. They are books written for an audience that includes children, but excludes absolutely no-one at all. They are really books for EVERYONE, and you can never, ever, EVER be too old to read them, and to love them!

This little blighter has been the cause of the dog keeping us awake half the night for the past week. Finally caught it in a humane trap and now it’s on the way to a local park for release. I feel a bit mean releasing it out into this horrid weather but I really need a decent night of sleep tonight.
