Sometimes self care is stepping away and giving time to creativity.
On November 9-10, 1938, Kristallnacht shook Jewish communities in Germany and Austria. Synagogues burned, homes looted, lives shattered. Let's remember the 26,000 Jewish men sent to camps. Let's ensure that such hate never triumphs again. #NeverForget #HistoryLessons

The 1930s taught us what appeasement gets you: a stronger enemy and a weaker democracy. Some of today’s Dems still haven’t learned it. You don’t bargain with extremists holding people’s livelihoods hostage. You hold the damn line. #HistoryRepeats

Next week hasn’t even started, and somehow I already feel like this cat.

My self-care this weekend? Attending the symphony with a friend, volunteering, and joining a group hike. Sometimes rest looks like connection, community, and a little movement in good company.

History was made on 11/8/65 as LBJ signed the Higher Education Act into law in TX. This pivotal moment opened doors for first-gen students with federal grants, loans, work-study, and crucial support. Let's remember: education policy is anti-poverty policy. #SocialWorkRewind

The Indian Child Welfare Act becomes law on Nov 8, 1978. After decades of removals, Congress sets federal standards and affirms tribal jurisdiction so Native kids stay with family and community. Quiet statute. Huge impact. #SocialWorkRewind #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth

Another week has come to an end. We'll done everyone!

To those on call this weekend, I’m thinking of you. Wishing you steady nerves, clear protocols, supportive teammates, and little pockets of rest. Eat something. Hydrate. Do a 60-second reset. You’re not alone, and what you do matters.
