'People, places, and a pinch of discipline.' A great way for @richkhistory.bsky.social to cap off a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting day at #Soane25

Plenty of ideas to take back to the team about worldbuilding in our History curriculum.

A new term starts tomorrow and we're introducing booklets to our KS3 enquiries in History for the first time. One of my team has just replanned our British Empire unit so I'm excited to see how students respond to it.

We've changed our KS3 assessment system this year to have three formal assessments throughout the year. This is one of our Y7 assessments from this term having just done our River Kings enquiry, What stories are hidden in a carnelian bead?

Nice. We do exactly the same. Great way to QA the huge amount of stuff that is out there and hopefully make it feel a little less overwhelming.

Visited Flag Fen near Peterborough for the first time today. Really interesting place that includes this hall where part of the circa three thousand year old causeway is preserved by keeping it permanently waterlogged.

Very proud of our school today and of our students who were interviewed by ITV News following our whole school Remembrance service. They were so articulate about the importance of this occasion.

Having lived in Ely for a few years now, I spent some time planning an enquiry on the history of the Fens. Visiting Wicken and Welney have helped me come to really appreciate the beauty and calm of the wetland and see what it probably meant to live here centuries ago.

Snuck away for a brief reading opportunity... Only managed the introduction but I'm already feeling pessimistic about the climate future 😂
