Video game idiot at large.

I write stuff sometimes. That’s about it honestly.
Happy worst bird day everyone

#75: Outlaws Remastered. It's not a very long game compared to most shooters, but it's a satisfying take on the old west as a boomer shooter, with classic Lucasarts style throughout. Happy to have revisited it and cleared the whole game in a binge, which is unusual for me. 9/10.

Chocolate chip cookie ones are the best kind for sure. Mostly I’m thinking about the ones like this, never fail to disappoint

That doesn't seem mathematically possible but hey, thanks game.

Also man I miss that Lucasarts house style for animation.

#74: Peggle Deluxe. Everyone loves Peggle right? Another game we've all played.

Except me, I hate Peggle apparently.

Is that because I'm really bad at geometry and can't calculate a bounce for shit if my life depended on it? Hey fuck you buddy I don't have to sit here and take this. 5/10.

Actually learning about this has sent me down a rabbit hole and there's a Pacman wiki to track Pac-canon(?) and apparently they have TWO kids, and now you have to know this too.

#73: BloodDome99. Vampire Survivors in the "horrible game show of the nightmare future". Short and not particularly hard, but the announcer and low-fi vibes work for it pretty well. 7/10.

I wasn’t going to buy this but I was at Best Buy trying to get a head start on holiday shopping today, and they randomly had a copy of NES World Championship collector’s edition, and it comes with random stuff like an NES cartridge, which I am exactly the right age to care about.

#72: Numgeon. Do you like clicking buttons in order? That's the game. That's it. There is some meta-progression that's extremely slow but also entirely unnecessary because one single upgrade broke the entire game. Beat it almost immediately. 4/10.

#71: Leisure Suit Larry 3. Better and worse than its predecessor. Less memorable moments, but also fewer places to get permanently stuck. And getting to play as a loser lady for once is nice. The humor feels more outdated than the second one though, I think. 6/10.

Honestly Kingdom Hearts is underappreciated as an origin for this sort of thing

#70: Balatro. Honestly I feel like Balatro is going to be on the same tier as Tetris at some point, in terms of near-perfect score-maxing games you can play endlessly without really even noticing. I could play it for days probably and I am just forcing myself to stop. 10/10

It's too late for me. Save yourselves.

#69 (obligatory "nice"): Bard's Tale III: The Thief of Time. Once again, bigger but not at the same time. The extra classes were cool though and it's a fitting resolution. The original is still probably the best but I enjoyed this more than 2. 8/10.

These guys are very funny. Due to what I assume must be a bug in their code, the only thing they seem to do every turn is call for reinforcements, which are... more of the same unit. So they're just infinitely expanding exp balloons.
