My hurdy gurdy build is coming along nicely. The body is made, the key box is done, I need to do a bit more sanding and then when the weather is nicer this week I'm going to lacquer it, and then I can install all the hardware

I'm building myself a musical instrument from a kit - it's a Hurdy Gurdy. It's made of laser cut plywood and 3D printed parts. Here's me doing a test fit of some of the parts this morning, checking the wheel is well aligned before I glue the top half to the bottom half. It's going pretty well so far
Me holding an unfinished hurdy gurdy - a medieval instrument where a hand cranked wheel plays strings and you change the note by pressing some keys. It is unfinished, the sides of the instrument isn't on, there's no key box and none of the hardware is on it. Just the crank and the wheel is on.

So because Duolingo essentially fired averyone and replaced them with AI I cancelled my subscription and I was actively looking for an alternative while my sub ran out. Today I got the notification that yesterday my streak hit 666 and I should extend it and... I think that's the perfect time to stop

Recently I've been playing with a very washed out colour palette and unusual details and angles

A few from last summer by the sea:
an old lifeboat station in the foreground with losts of small boats moored up behind it safely behing the harbour walls The only thing you can see is two seagulls sat on top of a street light with a perfectly clear blue sky behind them A distant rock that juts out into the misty sea with a lighthouse upon it, the surrounding sea is full of sea birds on the surface one of those pay to use telescope on the seafront for looking at the distant views, a view of the harbour with boats moored up is visible in the background

So today marks one year since I got my new camera. I thought I would to a thread of some of my favourite photos I've taken with it so far. Starting with some in colour:
