Void Elves are the one allied race that came out of nowhere. The one plus side was when they were given normal skin tones so people could be a high elf on the Alliance side.
Though it's actually the Mag'har that I don't like the story of the most, being from AU Draenor instead of Outland.

One thing that's fun exploring things like this is we might never truly know what it'd be like (I'm sure there's a few real world things that could bring on a similar effect) so when exploring these ideas there might not be any wrong answers.

Things like this have a habit of escalating in retaliation depending what TF is chosen by the winner and if the loser wins next time.

I've always liked every TF has a way to undo it, even if undoing requires you to unicycle down a steep hill and throw a dart at a bullseye on a tree halfway down that hill to change back.
Also sometimes someone else has the key, so you don't have a choice but someone can always undo it.

The way I see it with the allied races (though some have been shown otherwise) is they might not all be in the Horde/Alliance just more allies to those factions.

I will say the only thing that doesn't make sense is when you're in the ruins and there's a Naga statue, otherwise it was cool going back there.
