I very rarely post stream of conscious doom and gloom on here, but it's way too depressing to see something I love turn into this in real time as I see the news every single day.

If folks think I'm being too hyperbolic, I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong here.

Unless something drastically changes, I really believe the era of affordable, local, offline compute power will be over.

The future push will be affordable, low-powered machines. Any compute resources will require external services, storage on cloud, all subscription based.

"Nope." Was my answer, as my old build was from 2016 and had been really showing its age for several years.

I'm happy I ended up pulling the trigger then, because what we're seeing right now and what's to come? I hate it and I feel for anyone who desperately needs an upgrade.

I was just discussing this today that it's slow, but more and more people are waking up and realizing the content and services they have access to is nothing they own or control, even if they pay for it.

That's why you got to give them specific file names! Channel that 2005 energy. We had limited storage capabilities on phones, so we had to name the 11 pictures that were on there.

Do what we used to do! Raw files saved to the file system and renamed accordingly.
