i'm quoting this interview a lot but it's full of incredible moments

the lesson you have to draw from this is:

extremely funny opening lines aside:

we rarely get the chance to see people in game development discuss the works that inspire them artistically and the Fuga devs have been at this a long time, they're basically an authority on animal-ish characters

fantastic interview

this is all assuming the project is well managed and well intentioned, and just doing this kinda approach because it's just how kickstarters work nowadays

but "if you want to see the game growing" is the kind of emotional appeal that comes across as manipulative

i don't think this post sells the fact that Darkened Skye is a 2000-era *Skittles* advergame where you use the aforementioned candies to power your magic abilities

they're making a sequel to Boys Run the Riot called In Transition and what can we do but support a story that doesn't use metaphors or symbols and just open with the main character going "i want to get fucking HRT"

halo 2 has some fucking inspired visual design choices. the heretic covenants having heavier, almost industrial suits that are reminiscent of some Quake stuff is amazing

The Molyneux Cycle, a term coined by @commandersterling.bsky.social roughly a decade ago, refers to the observable pattern of the aforementioned developer to badmouth a previous game to hell and back while promising the next game will be an absolute classic. The cycle then repeats for said next game
