If you have British citizenship but have an Irish passport then you are ok - these rules Don’t apply.

This doesn’t apply to Irish citizens and especially doesn’t apply if you hold an Irish passport.

Btw this issue does NOT affect Irish citizens. Irish citizens do not need to apply for a visa to enter the UK - So the issue cannot apply.
This is true for Irish dual citizens of any nation including uk.
