Just had salmon here too! Baked with a honey lime glaze, served over rice with avocado and mango. There are so many ways to prepare salmon and I haven't yet discovered one I didn't like!

And here I was, thinking that was normal. Like, doesn't everybody mentally optimize even the most menial tasks? How else can you come to a decision without weighing the pros and cons of each option?

I also think given your options, I would do the +30 three times because it begins cooking on the first button press (if the 1:30 starts sooner, it ends sooner) and simply because it's the same button three times (less mental energy wasted scanning for the other buttons).

If you press more buttons than you have to, you're just wasting time. My microwave even has 1-6 as quick buttons for those many minutes, similar to the +30 button, so I can do 1:30 in two button pushes.

"But what if I need this consumable item during a future boss fight more than I do during this boss fight?"

My 4yo may or may not have been listening to the Grinch when i saw the news that the bill passed.
We've got a three-decker sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich with arsenic sauce in the white house. I don't care what the [redacted] files say or don't say.

Well that didn't age well.

Democrats were winning the shutdown in the court of public opinion. And then out of fucking nowhere, establishment Democrats betrayed their constituents by caving. You've shown your loyalty to lobbyists over we the people. Get the hell out of Washington, Chuck.

I just finished putting together an "earthbending" deck, and then they come out with an actual earthbending mechanic and don't even put it in UW for me. Smdh.

"Finding ways to make cards exceed their normal use case" perfectly encapsulates what I want in commander. And it's just fundamentally impossible with cards that are designed for commander.
October 23, 2025 at 3:55 PM
I've turned away from precons in recent years for that reason, instead building my own decks from scratch, usually with commanders that are older, less linear, and less "does everything for you."
October 23, 2025 at 3:52 PM
I don't want the puzzle to be solved for me. Modern precons are so tight and synergistic right out of the box that I don't need to design anything. I can always upgrade a few cards, but even that doesn't usually feel unique or expressive when there are "upgrade guides" everywhere.
