And the most annoying thing is that, the old DK is absolutely still in there. He can still come off as confident, concentrated, deterministic and, for lack of a better word, badass.

One of my favorite things about fighting games, that very few games in other genres are able to fully replicate, is being able to do fun little tricks on the controller to do something cool. Maybe not unintended, just cool.

But remakes aren't making more people play the games, they're playing something fundamentally different. A huge part of why Crash Bandicoot is interesting is because ND managed to cram cartoon-like graphics onto the PS1. Fast forward to the N.Sane trilogy, and all of the charm has been lost.

Yeah, I was unsure if I should include it because it certainly has a sidestep, even if it feels downright eldritch to actually use.
Still, we starving. VF better bring about the second 3D revolution.
Really wish someone would try making a new IP, or get Naruto to play like DoA. Would be sick, IMO.
