Which opens only two possibilities, both deeply worrying: that she is aware of the dissonances in their stance and is simply ignoring them to serve a wholly misguided and antipathetic agenda; or she's just pigsh*t ignorant about it all and still pressing ahead, affording no correction.

I will add the following: our students lack the research skills required to audit an LLM essay for errors. They don’t arrive on campus with these skills; we teach it to them over four long years. So throwing freshmen in the deep end and saying “swim your way to a shore of rectitude” is folly.

It's rarely a question anymore of who's 'good at it' - every department everywhere produces great work - it's that the people assessing what 'good' actually DOES have such a very narrow sense of it. 'Good' is only ever commercial, serves the private sector, or 'innovates' in profitable terms.
