Jokes aside, Far Cry is a franchise that'd actually work better as a serialized TV show than a video game series since there's a lot of fat and repetition they could cut out that bloats the length.
But at the same time, they're gonna have to take some kinda drastic liberties with some entries.

That's always been the goal, even back to the founding colonizers. You can always pacify the masses by giving them just enough of what they want/need so they won't rise up.
It's just nowadays most people being screwed either don't know how bad it is, or never faced hardship that severe.
