@mrdamours.bsky.social
New Englander living in 🇫🇷. Progressive, vegan (shouldn’t that be redundant 🤔). Animal lover (except the human ones, they’re the worst). Posting mainly about climate, politics & why eating animals is bad.
Happy Friday!… Here’s that game in development by @elwooddogmeat.bsky.social that I DM’d you about. It’s definitely right up your alley!

That’s incredibly annoying:-/… your bike reminds me of mine (which I love as well) and bought about 5yrs ago. If you end up needing to buy another this one’s def worth considering (the successor to mine). I especially love the zero-maintenance carbon belt “chain” evelo.com/products/dash
Dash
This electric folding bike features a powerful 350W mid-drive motor, a Shimano transmission, and a maintenance-free Gates Carbon Belt in an ultra-compact body.

Imagine if the public could witness what actually happens inside factory farms and meatpacking plants. Ag gag laws serve corporate interests, and there are states now loosening their child labor laws to allow kids to work in meatpacking because they struggle keeping adults in those jobs.

Here’s another article designed to get people worked up about one potential solution to the mass breeding &slaughtering of animals bc of a POSSIBLE unintended consequence (&in the case, an arguably far-fetched one) www.vox.com/future-perfe...
The bizarre new frontier for cell-cultivated meat: Lion burgers, tiger steaks, and mammoth meatballs
"Exotic" cultivated meats claim to be harmless, but they could threaten actual endangered animals.

Not to mention there’s no vegan I know that has an almond milk obsession. Personally, I don’t like it and prefer soy milk. But regardless, any plant based alternative is better for animals and the planet than drinking milk meant for baby cows

So veganism is more about not harming (or exploiting) animals AT ALL, whereas “animal welfare” seems to be more about treating animals well, even if in the end, those animals are ultimately being harmed and exploited 😢

Perhaps I should’ve worded that differently, but my point is if you care about the welfare of animals, the best thing to do would be to stop buying/eating products made from them (in other words, be vegan)
