Claude got the third badge, tying its current best number of badges in under 6000 steps! And just from watching it play, it really can't be understated how much this specific model improved on spatial understanding (go AROUND the wall) and on taking and following useful notes on where things are.

...However, Gem 3 has completely stalled on one specific puzzle in the game. Not an ice or boulder puzzle, but rather the Goldenrod underground switch puzzle that frankly has insane mechanics that are unfair even for a human:

(that said, it did miss noticing an NPC hint)

That said, it was helped by a change to the harness where floor tiles that are behind a wall are marked with a unique colour, on top of the existing two for walls/floors.

There's also these changes designed for Rocket hideout - past Claude models were not given this, making any comparisons unfair.

In AI Pokemon news, Opus 4.5 started playing Pokemon Red and is a big improvement, being the first Claude model to complete Viridian Forest and Mt Moon efficiently via actually properly tracking what it tried and sticking to a plan - despite its very minimal harness.

The official synopsis is pretty minimal but closest to the original NES game, at least. Set photos don't tell us much, but green link and blue zelda means that they're taking their most iconic looks rather than matching any specific game, as expected.

Real ones know that "location previously presented as being part of the mushroom planet inexplicably is now its own galaxy" is in itself established Galaxy lore.

New "hyperspace levels" that go beyond 100... Maybe this is the real reason you can't tradeback mons from Z-A to previous games?

And ON TOP of that madness - this game also has a glitch that lets you execute your current experience level with Blink as if it was a game script, so after doing the above, you can just beat the game!

In terms of what's actually happening here, there's no writeup in English, but it seems closely related to this TAS: tasvideos.org/7170S

Basically, FF2 RNG is seeded from uninitialized ram, and it *seems* Dr Mario is used just because the value it leaves there manips a rare battle and drop.
