And the reason for this isn't absurd. Tokens aren't cheap, so if an AI can grab 3 bulletpoints from an article right at the top, from an authoritative domain, that matches the user's conversational input, it'll spit that out and might be more relevant than what a SERP shows.

What DCL is likely trying to do is determine whether or not they should structure content more digestible by AI rather than Google or Bing crawlers. There are a lot of similarities and overlap between both methods, but AI prioritizes conversationally built, but bulletpoint-esque web pages.

Work I've done this year for SEO(not my personal site), strategized in order to show up in prompt responses. I used ChatGPT 5's methodology to backpedal & target AI responses, rather than strictly just Search Engine terms because users provide different styles of input ie. conversational vs keywords

Strengthening FCF by cutting content spend, while opening the door for fan-created content. In 2023 FCF was $4.9B after slashing content spend by ~$6B from 2022. TWDC might save another $1–2B/year in content costs by 2026 AND increase Disney+ ad inventory from fan content, a completely untapped area

Guess I'll take the other side here. This is a well timed growth play. Bob is on his way out- if it works out, the next CEO prospers, if not, the CEO can kill it without owning the responsibility.

The growth play is needed, tbh.
