Once again: people are angry for very good reason, and this brand of post is perhaps one of the most tedious and bewildering. Practically every social media platform is rabidly pro-‘AI’ so are govts, academia, companies. This one small space being critical of AI is okay, I think.

no hate for the program itself but i just really preferred discrete programs/apps i can configure individually

i've been on the internet for a very long time in a lot of permutations and i can say from hard-earned experience that it's more fun to just talk about your interests and find others who also have opinions on them instead of trying to small fish big pond the designated topic of the day.

Real human people were happy and willing to make subtitles in a variety of languages for free, and the creator had full control of what submissions were used

It finally happened. I finally ran into a Youtube video with that awful auto-dubbing feature turned on.
The video is an interview and it's... not even watchable now. Like the auto-dubbing is just saying random nonsensical words. 😭
