Removing a 500lb + piece of trash is not an easy feat. Watch how we slowly removed it from the trail over the course of 2 weeks. Without 6 volunteers and over 3 hours of volunteer time this trash would still be sitting in the river. Donate! Mountvernontrail.org/donate

This past Saturday, volunteers cut down invasive honeysuckle trees and picked up a LOT of trash near Four Mile Run and the Potomac River. Our exceptional roster of volunteers included mighty group of Wolverines from West Potomac High School and their Global Care Club who worked feverishly to uncover

Help us raise money to replace 7 aging and damaged picnic tables along the Mount Vernon Trail. These tables provide much-needed rest stops and gathering spaces for walkers, runners, and cyclists enjoying one of Arlington's most popular outdoor destinations.

The official results of the Mega Trash Bash are in! Last Saturday five local environmental groups — Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail, Potomac Conservancy, Four Mile Run Conservatory, NOVA Cleanups and District Cleanups— came together to tackle litter in our community.

Yesterday we had 128 volunteers collect 2,456 POUNDS of trash out of the Potomac River! That is a lot of trash! Thank you to all the groups who came out and volunteered. It was a fun event.
