(I'm assuming you've changed the belts, but definitely worth a look at if wow & flutter are getting a bit out of shape. Pinch rollers too. Before the belts turn to gooooooo)

I've never failed with a Shimano BB tool OR a Shimano cassette lock ring tool. They've worked for me...

The bike immediately makes it look like it's not the 90s, like it's much earlier. But then that wasn't really that far from the 70s and 80s looking back now.
