I agree that covid is year-round.This poster refers to the seasonal increases of flu & RSV & its audience is the person who might not yet know the risk of covid, but perhaps they will recognize the risk of winter viruses

I wasn't sure if this decision was district by district or as you say, a provincial decision. I suppose I'll be testing it out frequently with the numerous health issues I have.

...but it's easier to blame the worker & the student for inhaling & spreading flu, covid, RSV on school property & to let them absorb the physical cost of the absences. I expect there'll be an increase in SIF claims to BCTF too

It's troubling that SDs will not deal with the *underlying* cause of increased illness by providing cost effective mitigations like masks & ventilation guidance. Imagine if they did mask mandates & ventilation checksfor performances during flu season,for example

It feels like people are quietly hacking safer spaces using their existing privileges without officially pushing for it & while that normalizes *avoiding illness* that makes the move invisible & govts are still off the hook for making the workplace safer /2

Got vaxxed recently too & none too soon. It's been raining covid at my school. I have multiple air filters in my room , mostly CR boxes & a little ikea filter that is just visible in upper right of the microsopy photo below
