We are excited to welcome new Institute Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Sung-Mu Lee to the Memory and Perception Lab! Dr. Lee brings extensive doctoral and postdoctoral training in using fMRI to better understand behavioral priming, perception, and neural processing in humans.

Institute and Research Registry co-founder, Dr. John Whyte, describes how the Research Registry began as a core facility within the NIH-funded Cognitive Rehabilitation Research Network, which advanced research related to the cognitive impacts of stroke, traumatic #strokenj#TBI and other disorders.

Institute faculty, with University Hospital, Copenhagen, developed the Brain Injury Nociception Assessment Measure (#BINAM) - a 10-item tool that quickly & reliably assesses nociception & shows promising results in tracking discomfort & analgesia after #TBI.

The Brain Injury Functional Outcome Measure assesses global function after #msTBI. It allows measurement of graded functional impairment ranging from unconsciousness to resuming normal activities.

Drs. Amanda Rabinowitz, Umesh Venkatesan & team evaluated the reproducibility of Resting-state functional connectivity (RSFC) metrics in adults w/ & w/o #TBI, finding reliability was preserved after neurological injury, w/ certain networks showing the strongest consistency. https://ow.ly/fvbp50XkXwi

Dr. Lyn Turkstra & peers sought to characterize social-legal discourse in adults with and without #TBI. Results identified risks of TBI-related communication deficits in legal contexts, warranting future research of the effects of TBI on intersections with legal systems.
