The recreation of the Parsonage is amazing. Obviously couldn't use the original due to the later extensions and refurbishments so they just built a set a bit further up the hill. I can't remember a huge amount about the narrative but I remember the sets.

there are two main reasons why they might do this. one, they think it will buy them votes. and two, they simply enjoy being cruel and this is a group they can be cruel to without it having a (significant) detrimental impact on votes, as most migrants can't vote.

95% of illegal migration is caused by a complicated and punitive system. people end up overstaying without realising because the rules are so convoluted and accessing immigration advice is often a costly process.

I don't know or care what his immigration status is or whether he identifies as British or not. He's a brave and selfless gentleman, characteristics which are not restricted to certain nationalities, religions or skin colours.

I think you underestimate how much a car is required in the US. It's impossible for many people to get to their workplaces without cars, even if they do have a bike, due to road systems which are impossible to navigate as a pedestrian and incredibly dangerous on a bike. The US isn't the Netherlands.

In the UK we've had rising food insecurity and reliance on food banks since 2010, and the usual vermin crawl out of the woodwork to make these same arguments every few months. Absolutely ghouls.
