People only talk about how filters like this are bad but raw pixels ain't great either, devs were using dithering in really smart ways back then to make sprites look way more detailed that you're missing out on by displaying the raw image on anything but a CRT monitor/TV

Mega Froslass being one of the only exceptions to this, I get it's supposed to be more reminiscent of a yuki-onna but it just looks longer now so it could easily pass for a gigantamax
