Just the idea of these women being independent, being paid equitably for their labor, and being admired as sports stars has revealed how so many rely on patriarchy to justify their existences.

Industry e5 theme is that all men, at all levels (and the patriarchal women who collude with them) will let you down

I've been particularly interested in researching Black lesbian and queer communes, living spaces, and collectives of the past, especially pre-1980. Finding out that Black american lesbians used to gather, organize, and party on Martha's Vineyard has been deeply affirming.

I appreciate the groups that are encouraging Black people, 35 and under to apply for commumity board positions, apply for board seats, volunteer with historic orgs and non-profits, revive secret societies, and access archives. We need to bring back what was, instead of constantly making new things.

Yup. So many think they are better than us because they weren't enslaved. Plus, we can't ignore how Black folks are still enslaved in parts of Africa and the Middle East. Some folks' ignorance isn't by accident. It's willful, and likely based on a belief that they are "better than."

Anyone that doesn't understand or regard the grueling process the descendants of enslaved people have endured to make progress ourselves, and open doors for others, is lost in the sauce.

I can't help them and I don't want to hear them.
