I tried to tell the journo that people have been doing massive grassroots organizing campaigns around the budget and he kinda gave me a “if you say so” look 🫠

Also, it speaks to the lack of imagination within journalism. If you don’t practice optimism, and don’t believe we can evolve for the better, then you can’t do journalism that empowers people to act.

I believe you! Despite the messiness (or maybe because of it), I’m seeing so much civic education and engagement happening during this budget season.

Chicago is an inspiring place where people actually fight to be heard!

I really want The TRiiBE’s audience to OVERstand how the government and politics work and I believe people can be reached if we try. The cynicism I encounter from journalists is why I tell ppl I’m a truthteller and filmmaker because yikes!
