Started the sleeves. They will get less annoying as they get longer but for rn they are incredibly annoying to do two at a time cuz the yoke of the sweater is still so close and so bulky.
November 29, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Finished the yoke, separated the sleeves from the body, and knitted enough of the torso to be able to start the sleeves. I’m planning to try to do them two at a time but we’ll see how annoying I find that tomorrow.

Colour work for the yoke finished. I need to knit 6 more rounds and then I can separate the sleeves from the body. I’m obsessed with the colours and how well my gradient blended.
November 28, 2025 at 5:18 AM
Successful first colour change. I’m really pleased with the way the colours blended and I’m 3 rows away from starting the second colour change.

Started sweater no 2. This one is gonna go from purple to pink to peach to white and have a matching pattern on the cuff. I plan to make it longer too so it’ll keep my hips warm when I go skating.

Sweater update: it’s finished!

I need to get some wool wash so I can hand wash and block it but the knitting is finished. I’m very happy with how it came out.
November 25, 2025 at 2:02 AM
Sweater update: finished my first sleeve! And I counted how many rows were in each part of the instructions as I did it so hopefully the second winds up identical cuz I did not want to do them 2 at a time.

We turned the stock into what might be my new fave soup. Bf took a bite and started rubbing his hands together like a cursed goblin so well defs be making it again.
November 18, 2025 at 12:19 AM
Behold my treasure! Bf is coming over tomorrow and he’s a bit of a soup slut so we’re gonna use it to make loaded baked potato soup. I’m very excited.

Sweater update! Body finished and it’s now sleeve o’clock! I’m really pleased with it so far. It fits tighter than expected but it does still fit so that’s fine. I’m excited to see how it looks with the sleeves.

Sweater update: I was right about needing to make it longer than the pattern says. It’s almost at the 10” mark where the ribbed hem is supposed to start, but I think I’m gonna keep going another 2” before I start the hem.

I am happy with it so far tho. It’s super cute and very comfy.

I still have a bunch of papers to organize, most of them patterns I drafted for various projects. But the living room is clean and organized and ready for my bf to come over tomorrow to watch Frankenstein with me.

I’m slowly getting through the unpacking. Just the stuff on the drafting table left.

Sweater update. I’m on ball number 4 of the ivory yarn. I *think* finishing the current skein will take me to the 10” the pattern says to start the ribbing but I’m not sure if 10” is long enough for me. I might do 12” and then do the ribbing. I definitely have enough yarn to do it so
November 13, 2025 at 12:21 AM
Almost all my fabric that’s long enough to be rolled onto tubes has been and is sorted by fabric type (knits, wool coating, cotton/linen, lining, and stabilizers). I’m not allowed buying any fabric other than lining or stabilizers until I use at least half of what I already own.
November 12, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Sweater update: yoke finished, short rows finished, armholes tied off to deal with later and the body started.

I have 10” of work to do on the body now, then 2” of ribbing.

Finally got past row 21 in this sweater yoke. There’s less contrast than I’d prefer between the green and the white but up close it’s really nice.
November 7, 2025 at 12:14 AM
I frogged it to where the colour work starts and I think I finally have the tension correct now. The colours are still puffy looking but while both yarns say they’re worsted (4), the colourful yarn is thicker. I’m ok with that.
November 4, 2025 at 9:55 PM
This is attempt no 2 of starting this sweater. Attempt no 1 my floats were too tight. This attempt I think they’re too loose in the first 15 rows (of the 21 I’ve done). I’m debating frogging it again and starting a third time now that I think I found the right tension.
November 4, 2025 at 5:10 AM
I think the plan is these two. I’m gonna do the first one as a gradient from blackberry to fruit stand to freestone peach. The second I’ll do Granny Smith to Bartlett pear to freestone peach. Both with ivory as the main colour.

Exciting package day. I’ve decided instead of the handsome Chris sweater I started, I could make two fair isle sweaters if I got a contrasting colour with the same cream yarn. So I got the BC orchard pack from Midknit Cravings. The colours are stunning and the wool is so soft.

My next project: figure out how to do colour work. I found a pattern I loved that was written cuff down and flipped it so I could do toes up cuz I’m not sure how far the remaining pride yarn will take me. I think I figured out stranded colours pretty quickly.
October 24, 2025 at 3:05 AM
Finished my second pair of socks this week! The yarn is what got me interested in trying sock knitting in the first place. I saw it online and was like I need it.

I’m hoping I have enough to make a stranded pair too with the leftover white from the green pair but we’ll see.
October 23, 2025 at 4:25 AM
Next project: trying to reverse engineer the sock pattern I seemingly made up in 2020 to finish the second sock in the pair I started. The sticky note is my row count I’m gonna follow for the foot, leg, and cuff. P sure I’ve messed up the heel turn by doing short rows to 10 stitches instead of 12.
October 22, 2025 at 3:53 AM
Socks finished! I’m very proud of them. My toes will be so cozy this winter.
October 21, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Sock update. Had to take them off the circular needles and do them one at a time on dpns to do the heel shaping cuz I kept dropping stitches with all the increases for the gusset. But it fits and I just have the leg and cuff left. Probably gonna take a break from knitting tomorrow to rest my wrist.
