Because of my spinal injury, I was thinking that I wish I could have upside down belaying glasses so that I can hold a book or phone comfortably again and...this product exists, and is really inexpensive! They're called "lazy glasses" or "crochet glasses".

Now to find out how well it works for me.

I put a massive number of changes in today's release of the new version of the #quadplay retro fantasy video game console. Available now at:

morgan3d.github.io/quadplay/

The main focus of these changes was mobile: new aspect ratios, new battery saving optimizations, new exported game UI options.

20kts of wind makes for a lot of miles put away!

I just marvel at the free energy of wind and current--I'm moving my *home* around with minimal effort, cost, and environmental impact, while sitting here making a sandwich and coffee enjoying the ride.

I'm used to having these islands to myself in the winter. Warm weather brings company. Ten other boats are squeezing into this cove.

It is affirming to see everyone politely helping others to anchor safely and securely, lending a hand, gear, or advice. The cruising community is great.

More beautiful BC hiking in provincial island parks this weekend. Native arbutus/madrone trees that shed their orange bark are a distinctive fixture on these shores.

Too much of my boat storage is for shoes!

Hiking boots, offshore boots, ankle sailing boots, reef shoes, slippers, slides, sailing sneakers, shore sneakers, hip waders, and lightweight summer sailing sneakers.

And I still have nothing "nice" to wear on shore for socializing...

It was quite peaceful at this anchorage (and charming, including a tiny working commercial fishing dock).

However, the names on the chart of Skull Rock, Massacre Bay, and Victim Island reflect tragically violent histories of tribal warfare among the Salish peoples in the area ~150 years ago.

At a mooring, enjoying the evening on Meridian. We've had an unexpected amount of wind lately in the Salish sea (from corresponding huge barometric pressure changes) but otherwise mild weather and mostly clear skies. #sailing

I had a brief, very specific obsession with creating tiny mecha from LEGO. I'm all better now. This isn't a good hobby while cruising. Until next time...

I finally put Meridian's name on the hull! Now she's properly able to introduce herself.

I spent the rest of the day re-provisioning, watering, recharging, and cleaning (with a few breaks for video meetings on AI and some debugging!) to prepare for the next few weeks of sailing.
