Contracting on detention sites has carried almost no downside risk for disaster relief firms. With some organizing, we can change that by urging elected officials and EM leaders in blue states to stop contracting with companies involved.

Or perhaps a better question is: who could I sit down with, who them the floor plan + my ideas for mitigation and come away with a sense of how much this reduces the risk of infection? (Acknowledging there is no 100% safe solution)

So I’m looking to others who have been similarly careful: what do you think? Is it worth the considerable expense? CAN we clean the air enough to be reasonably safe? I should add 2 things. We do eat outdoors at restaurants—so far, no infection. We would also do PlusLife testing in addition to… 4/X

…after very strict indoor masking any time I’m inside w/anyone who isn’t my partner, the question was: would I really trust this set up? I’ve been SO careful for 5 years. Can technology (if windows are tech) really make it safe as long as there’s a pandemic? I want the answer to be yes. 3/X

We decided this year we didn’t even need to limit ourselves to plant based dishes that felt like Thanksgiving. So we’re having vegetarian black bean burritos with dulce de leche cakes for dessert with absolutely zero regrets. This is the kind of rebellion that feels fun & delicious.
