I've been in love with vidya since before my brain was truly sapient, I had the Atari 2600. It had a maze game on it that I played endlessly.
I played games over the years at friends homes, not owning my own computer for thirty years...

So... I don't normally do this, but don't start with the first written books. Start with "Guards, Guards" and "Men at Arms", then go back pick up "The Colour of Magic" and read them in publication order.

It was not Impossible Mission. Not even making maps helped, it was just beyond me (10 y.o. nerd) & my best friend's (16 y.o. stoner) abilities.
Someday I'll pick the game back up and beat it.
Even if I have to use a walkthrough and something for my old man reflexes... like a 10 year old ringer.
