I feel like 5ish years is normal for a game dev cycle, faster if it's reusing assets, GoW 2018 and Ragnarok 2022, 4 years, Zero Dawn (2017) & Forbidden West (2022) 5 years, Nintendo did not start development on DK this year, I think they only had hardware specs in the last 1-2 years for the Switch 2

What I was trying to say was manga is just more streamlined, one chapter of One Piece can take <5 minutes to read but that can get padded out into a 22 minute episode

I read manga now and don't touch anime, I don't have time for it
