I do see the overlord shoulderpads but between the 2.0/2.3 oddities† and the recent Thancred necklace incident I'm thinking maybe we just let that go…?
†2.0 shows 14 black-robed, shoulder-padded overlords before Eli arrives. 2.3 shows the 14 (inc. "dead" Emmerololth) PLUS Eli, but no pads on most.

I think it's giving Solution IX. Alexandria's history is adapting to survive crises. If they look back with nostalgia on the regulators and the endless without adapting now, their future is doomed.
