when someone knows their shit and can communicate it clearly and effectively, or even is a touch self aware, it doesn’t really give me that same “ick” factor. i don’t really know how to explain it personally. it’s got something to do with performative actions or inauthenticity or something.

i feel like “holier-than-thou” is a specific vibe that comes from a person talking out of their depth - like dunning-kruger level of just being slightly less ignorant than whoever they’re performing for. or just empty gestures that say the right buzzwords. or being pedantic for no reason.
