And knowing that like, it would help a lot if popular artists who draw people actually drew fat people too instead of just recreating the same industry beauty standards (drawing a fat elderly side character and calling it a day doesn’t count. That doesn’t challenge beauty standards.)

and artists who don’t challenge those beauty standards. No matter how much ppl love my work, any visibility I get will always come with a mountain of anti-fat cruelty and mockery. My art will never go viral for positive reasons.

To be clear this isn’t to hate on anyone. We can all do better to challenge beauty standards and hierarchies, myself included. But getting nonstop fat jokes in my comments the past couple weeks has amplified just how different the experiences are between artists like me

You can’t say you support diversity and inclusion and then only make art of thin and/or white people. Taking the path of least resistance by only featuring conventionally attractive people in your art is a political choice that reinforces the status quo.
